Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-11

These Terms govern your use of StackProof at stackproof.app and any related services we provide (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and account

You must be at least sixteen years old to use StackProof and capable of entering into a binding agreement. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your credentials secure. You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. The Service

StackProof analyzes code from repositories you authorize and produces reports, skill graphs, seniority assessments, and interview preparation. You grant us a limited license to access, clone, and analyze the repositories you select solely to deliver these outputs to you. Repositories are processed ephemerally and source files are deleted after analysis completes.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit code or content for analysis that you do not have the right to submit.
  • Use the Service to reverse engineer, copy, or compete with the Service.
  • Probe, scan, or test the Service for vulnerabilities without prior written authorization.
  • Submit content that infringes intellectual property, violates law, or contains malware.
  • Resell, sublicense, or share access to your account.
  • Use the Service to generate analyses for parties who have not consented to processing of their code.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. We will give notice where reasonable.

4. Plans, billing, and refunds

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis (Pro) or as a one-time payment (Lifetime BYOK). Pricing is shown at stackproof.app and may change for new subscriptions on thirty days notice. Existing paid subscriptions remain at the price you signed up for through the current billing period.

You may cancel Pro at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and your account reverts to Scout. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial periods.

Lifetime BYOK is non-refundable after the first seven days from purchase. Within seven days, contact hello@stackproof.app for a full refund. The Lifetime BYOK plan requires you to supply your own API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. We do not cover usage charges incurred under your keys.

5. Your content and intellectual property

You retain all rights to your code and to the analyses we generate for you. We do not claim ownership of your repositories or of the reports we produce for you. Reports are yours to use, share, or republish as you see fit.

StackProof retains all rights to the Service itself, including the platform, models we operate, scoring algorithms, prompts, and aggregated anonymized analytics.

6. No training on customer code

We do not train any of our own models on your code or commit history. We do not provide your code to our model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) for training purposes. Each provider operates under contractual no-training terms applicable to the API tiers we use.

7. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, dependent service outages, and unexpected events may affect availability. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate planned downtime in advance.

8. Beta and experimental features

Features explicitly labeled beta or experimental are provided as-is and may change or be removed without notice. Outputs from beta features may be lower quality or less reliable.

9. Disclaimers

StackProof analyses are advisory. We do not guarantee that a report will produce a specific career outcome, nor that the role matches we suggest will result in offers. The Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StackProof's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify StackProof against claims arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your submission of content you did not have the right to submit.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from your dashboard. We may terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, abuse, fraud, or extended inactivity. On termination we delete account data within thirty days, retaining only what is required for legal compliance.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will provide at least thirty days notice by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless local consumer protection law mandates a different venue.
